More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked in a ministry setting and was a home-school teacher for six 5 year-olds for a little over a year. I was a teacher's assistant in both public and private school settings for a year each. I also worked in the infant room at a day care for several years after I graduated high school. I have also successfully raised three of my own children who have turned out to be pretty amazing young men who are all successful in their careers. One is a commercial building estimator, one is an electrician, specifically fire alarm, and my oldest is a paramedic (Not bragging...lol).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a crafter by nature. I love doing things with my hands. It is how I learn best too. I also like to play outside and dont mind getting dirty. I like to go on adventures and spot little things like bugs and stuff. Its those moments that everyone seems tk be too busy for that I find the most joy in. I am not one to sit in front of the television for hours on end nor do I like the electronics. Video games are okay in moderation. I love me some Mario Kart!!

The most important part of being a nanny is to ensure the child's safety and comfortability with me. If the child isnt happy or comfortable, it can be a miserable experience for everyone. I aim to please, not just the child, but mom and dad too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I remember babysitting one time for a friend of the family when I was a teenager. One of the little girls had gotten into a bit of trouble and had to be placed in "time out" for a couple of minutes as per her mother's rules. When the timer went off, she popped her head out the door and called me. "Kirsteeeeeeenaaaaa, can I come out now?" I doubled over laughing because of how she said my name. It has stuck over the years too. My mother still calls me that from time to time.
