More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was previously an assistant preschool teacher at a Goddard school and head teacher in the preschool room at Lightbridge Academy.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love engaging in arts and crafts with children (painting, coloring, getting creative and making whatever comes to mind). Outdoor activities I enjoy doing with children are walks/hikes, biking, swimming, playgrounds, scavenger hunts or simply drawing with chalk on driveway or kicking a soccer ball around. I also enjoy taking children to story times at libraries or finding classes for the to participate in. Such as gymnastics, swim lessons, art class, cooking class, etc. For those snowy days I will absolutely be outside with your child building a snowman or taking them sledding (assuming the conditions are safe to be outside). When it comes to those rainy days and the children are all done with arts and crafts I will engage them in fort building, games, hide and seek and the list goes on. Lastly, I enjoy cooking/baking with children as long as the parents are comfortable with it!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part to me about being a nanny is the relationship, bond and impact I can have a child’s life while also helping out the family. I love being able to make a connection not only with the child but the parents too and build a long lasting relationship. I strongly believe in engaging with the child showing them compassion, love and kindness and making sure that they feel safe, secure and can trust me. I also find it important to help the parents out as well with tasks that can be done around the house or simply staying late so they can get a date night in together. When I am a nanny for a family I not only want to be there for the child but also the parents and make sure I can do whatever I can to have things run smoothly,

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children that have ADD, ADHD and children who have high functioning autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There are multiple funny and sweet nanny moments I have had with children. The previous family I worked for had 2 boys and I will never forget that they told a random person while out that I was married (spoiler, I am not). I asked them why they thought that and they told me because I had rings on! I recently had a very sweet moment with the current little girl I nanny for. Unfortunately my long term boyfriend of 10 years, his father recently passed away and I had taken some time off from work. The family I work for explained to the little girl what had happened and when I came back from my extended bereavement she had a lot of questions for me. The one that was the sweetest and stuck out to me though was when she asked me if he was going to come back in the summer. It was so sweet and innocent and that her little mind thought he had gone away for the winter. The same little girl also recently told me how much she loves that I dig with her at the beach. That, I will cherish forever.
