Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking walks outside and drawing with chalk on the sidewalks when it’s warmer. In the winter, snow forts and snow men are a must (if age appropriate and weather permitting of course)! I love taking the kids out and watch them observe different things outside as it’s a whole new world waiting to be explored by them. I try my best to incorporate learning with play. I am also a huge fan of child led arts and crafts and pretend play (vital in key development of the brain). I also enjoy reading books that the child(den) picks out to help encourage decision making and being confident in their decisions.
I am a huge believer in Montessori teaching methods with incorporating Vygotsky theories as well. Part of that involves if they are able to tell me what they want to do or what they are interested in, there is nothing more rewarding than teaching a child something new that intrigues them and encourages learning and curiosity throughout their lifetime.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I am currently a teacher, or more like co-parent, for 15 babies. I love each and every one of them and wish I could devote more time to just one-three kids so I can actually focus more on the teaching, arts and crafts, and bonding that I love to do. My favorite parts of working in childcare are the children and their families and by switching to becoming a nanny, I will be able to form that close connection and bond that is so important. Currently, I spend most of my day changing diapers, cleaning blowouts, making bottles, and making sure every child under my care. is being taken care of with the love and respect that they deserve and need. As a nanny, I get to form a closer connection with not only the child(den), but also the parents and family.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a child aged 3-4 on the Autism Spectrum for 4 months before his parents decided a more specialized program would be best for him.
I have worked with multiple premature babies.
I have also worked with two infants with cerebral palsy, one who also had suffered a stoke in the room. The infant, his parents, his physical therapy team, and I all worked closely to make sure he was developing on track.
I have also used to babysit for a young boy who had severe anger problems, anxiety, and other mental health problems for two-three years. Yeah

The most important part about being a nanny...
Not a nanny moment but an early childcare center moment. Every morning when I come into the classroom, before I can even wash my hands and take off my coat, I already have at least two of my babies grabbing on my legs wanting me to hold them and give them love. After I get settled and wash my hands, I pick them up and they always give me a huge hug and get sad when I have to set them down to do what needs to get done.
