I have volunteered at Yaquina Elementary School In high school two separate years once during junior year and again during my senior year. It was really fun to be apart of the community and help out!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy going on hikes, walks, and to the park. I feel as though I enjoy it just as much as the kids do haha. I also enjoy watching kids shows and movies and will gladly talk the whole movie if they would want to as well. It’s a great way to start analyzing media young!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure that the child feels respected and has a nice time! When I was a kid I always loved being treated as an equal (to an extent) I loved having fun while also being responsible for something myself. It is also crucial to me that they are as safe as possible. I will be more than happy to make whatever adjustments needed for the child’s personality. I have worked with lots of different kids and realize not everyone is the same they all need something different.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a step-sister who lives in Washington. I met her last year and we hit it off. She’s only 3 but I enjoy watching minions with her and spinning her upside down, which is one of her favorite activities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I worked at the Newport Rec Center we took a field trip to Ripley’s Believe it Or Not. That was my absolute favorite place as a kid (along with the butterfly garden) so being there with them brought back all my favorite childhood memories.
