My experience with special needs children...
I volunteered with a 4-H camp that was solely for kids with special needs. The camp was designed so the children don't feel like an outcast in their surroundings, where they are there with kids who are just like them so they don't have to be afraid to be them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was playing with two kids, one was 11 months old and the other 3 years old, we were playing in the living room with Lego Duplos and the 2 year old brought out some dinosaurs and we crawled around on the floor acting like dinosaurs ourselves and breaking through the "cities" we had built making what I think were very accurate dinosaur noises and their parents walked in right as we were in the middle of it and started laughing then they decided to be dinosaurs with us.
