I nannied for a family for two years during high school, caring for their children after school and on weekends. My responsibilities included helping with homework, supervising daily routines, and planning fun and engaging activities on weekends. In addition to childcare, I assisted with light housekeeping such as dishes, laundry, and mopping, as well as helping care for the family pets. I built a strong, trusting relationship with both the children and their parents, and I stopped working with the family once the children became old enough to stay home independently.

The most important part of being a nanny is building trust and creating a safe, caring environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and confident to be themselves. Being patient, attentive, and reliable helps kids feel secure while giving parents peace of mind.
My experience with special needs children...
During high school, I helped out in an after-school care program for children with special needs. I spent time playing sports, games, and doing engaging activities with the kids while offering patience, encouragement, and support. This experience helped me become more adaptable and attentive, and taught me the importance of creating a positive and inclusive environment for every child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was teaching the kids how to swim and watching their confidence grow. Seeing them proudly show their parents how they could jump into the pool, touch the bottom, and swim back up was incredibly rewarding and something I’ll always remember.
