A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Lara, and I am a graduate from Millersville University with a Bachelor's in English. I've been lucky to have 3 younger brothers I helped to raise, from 5 years younger to 14 years younger, meaning I have experience with all ages. I have worked with individuals with special needs and believe strongly in introducing a love for the arts. I love to read aloud to those I'm caring for, do arts and crafts, and get connected to nature. Though I have not worked directly with children (other than family), I have worked in a personal care home for adults with disabilities, and was able to manage a household of over 40 adults while cleaning, cooking, and doing any other housework while needed. I currently work at State College High School and believe in connecting with the students and having mutual respect that leads to a healthy relationship based on affection, not through forcibly asserting authority. I would certainly translate that over to caring for younger children also.
