A little bit about me

My name is Lauren and I have been working in child care on and off for 15 years. My first nanny job was for an 8month old boy who I stayed with for 7 years. Since then, I've been a nanny for 4 other children, 2 of whom were twin girls who I was with between the ages of 3 months to 3 years while the other 2 were both toddlers with who I was with for various lengths of time.
When working with a family my goal is to help parents in whatever way they need me to, whether it's giving them a hand or just a break. During nap time I am happy to do any housework that needs to be done whether it's cleaning up, laundry, or putting a meal together.
I've always had a close bond with the children I've cared for where they know that they are safe and cared for and that they are going to have fun when we're together.

I've had 4 nanny jobs in total but I've also done lots of babysitting over the years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to the park and being outdoors, even if it's just for little walks. I also like to have them help me with preparing their lunches and snacks and then reading aloud to them before nap time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a trust and bond with the kids so that they don't feel any stress or anxiety about being away from their parents. Making sure that they are safe and having fun when they are with you and look forward to seeing you again.

My experience with special needs children...

I've not had much experience with special needs kids but in my opinion, kids are just kids and every kid has their own particular set of needs and attention that they need. As my father has said, I didn't raise children, I raised each kid.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Anytime they fall asleep in my arms. It just melts my heart.
