A little bit about me

Hello, my name is Lauren Hoffman and I have been working in child care on and off for 15 years. In all of the time I have worked as a nanny I have gained experience in helping kids reach milestone achievements, have potty training success and helping them to learn and expand their vocabulary through narrating, reading and doing my best to keep whatever it is that we are doing fun and exciting for them.
When working with a family my goal is to help parents in whatever way they need me to, whether it's giving them a hand or just a break. During nap time I am happy to do any housework that needs to be done whether it's cleaning up, laundry, or putting a meal together.
I've always had a close bond with the children I've cared for and am still in touch with all of the families I've worked with.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Depending on their age, if the weather is nice I like to play out doors as much as possible (after applying LOTS of sunscreen of course)
I also like to incorporate techniques I learned from a pediatric physical therapist that help build strength and balance when playing.
I think my job as a nanny is to make whatever it is we are doing fun for them whether it's practicing ABC's or running errands, with the right attitude anything can become an adventure.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Having good communication with parents is key. Also, to be willing to learn and adapt to different families and parenting styles is important but the relationship you build with the children is what matters most. If they're not smiling when I walk through the door then I'm not doing my job.
