A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Lauren Jones, and I’m a college student at the University of Michigan with over six years of childcare experience. I’ve worked with children of various ages as a preschool and childcare teacher, camp counselor, after-school educator, babysitter, and youth mentor. I also serve as Vice President of Programming for College Mentors for Kids at U-M, where I help plan activities for elementary-aged children. I’m caring, patient, dependable, and energetic, and I enjoy arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities, reading, and other age-appropriate activities. I’m also comfortable with meals and snacks, bedtime routines, homework, and light cleanup. I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their children are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for, and I’d love the opportunity to connect with your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over six years of experience caring for children in various roles, including as a Child Care Teacher at KidzWorld, where I organize creative activities, supervise children, and communicate effectively with parents to ensure their satisfaction and trust. As a Jr. Camp Counselor at Beverly Hills Club, I led activities, supervised children during camp events, and fostered their social skill development. My experience also includes babysitting for a six-year-old boy, where I created innovative educational games and encouraged an interest in reading through storytelling. At Moore Day Care, I cared for children aged 6 months to 5 years, prepared meals, and ensured a safe, clean environment. Additionally, I assisted preschool-aged dance students at The Zone Dance Center, helping them develop coordination and confidence through positive reinforcement. These roles have allowed me to build a strong foundation in childcare, emphasizing creativity, patience, and effective communication.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include engaging them in creative and educational games that spark their imagination and encourage learning. I love organizing arts and crafts projects, reading interactive storybooks, and playing games that develop their motor and social skills. Outdoor activities, like trips to the park or nature walks, are also favorites, as they allow children to explore and stay active. Additionally, I enjoy leading fun group activities, such as dance routines, team-building games, and simple exercises that promote teamwork and self-expression. These activities not only entertain children but also help them build confidence, creativity, and a sense of curiosity.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel supported and valued. It's about building trust with both the children and their families, ensuring that parents feel confident their child is in caring hands. Beyond meeting basic needs, it’s important to foster emotional, social, and intellectual growth through meaningful activities, open communication, and positive reinforcement. A nanny plays a key role in shaping a child’s development, and I believe patience, creativity, and genuine care are essential in fulfilling this responsibility.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children includes working with a child who had high-functioning autism. In this role, I focused on creating a structured and supportive environment tailored to their unique needs. I utilized patience and effective communication to help the child feel comfortable, engage in activities, and develop their social and educational skills. While I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum, my expertise lies in providing care and support rather than extensive specialized training for more complex needs. I am, however, open to learning and adapting to meet the specific requirements of any child I work with.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was dancing with the children I cared for. As someone who has been a dancer since the age of two, sharing my passion for dance with them was incredibly rewarding. Watching their faces light up as we moved to the music and seeing their confidence grow as they tried new steps was truly heartwarming. It was a fun, creative way to bond with them while encouraging self-expression and physical activity. Moments like these remind me why I love working with children—they bring so much joy and energy to every experience.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Ann Arbor, MI: Hannah M.

Hi there! My name is Hannah, and I’m a dedicated nanny with a passion for working with children. I've been nannying since 2017, but as the oldest of four, I’ve been changing diapers far longer than that! Most of my experience is with children ages 11 months to 12 years, though I’m comfortable working with any age. I’ve also taken on “house manager” roles in past positions, handling tasks like meal prep, pet care, cleaning, laundry, and errands. I’m Child & Baby First Aid/CPR/AED certified, vaccinated, have my own vehicle, and bring a cheery disposition! I've been fortunate enough to form life-long bonds with children in my home state of NC, and look forward to finding that here in my new home!
