The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is making sure a child feels safe, loved, and comfortable being themselves. I believe it’s important to be patient, kind, and understanding while also making everyday moments fun and exciting. I want the children I care for to know they can trust me, talk to me, and feel supported. I also think building a good relationship with the parents is really important, because communication and trust help create the best experience for everyone. Most of all, I want to be someone who brings happiness, encouragement, and a sense of safety into a child’s life.
My experience with special needs children...
One thing that has given me a lot of experience and understanding when it comes to caring for children with special needs is growing up with my older brother, who is developmentally disabled. Since he is only a year older than me, I grew up right alongside him and learned from a young age that every person is unique and has their own needs, personality, and way of doing things. He has taught me so much about patience, kindness, understanding, and celebrating the little things.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was hearing my roommate’s baby laugh for the very first time. It was such a sweet and special moment, and hearing that little laugh instantly made everyone around him smile. I remember feeling so happy just to be there and experience that moment with him. It’s little moments like that that remind me how much I love being around children and getting to be part of their lives as they learn, grow, and discover new things.
