I have been a camp counselor 3 different summers, I spent many years as a bible study lead with 3 year olds at my church, I've done plenty of freelance babysitting for friends/family or parents of former students, plus of course, teaching preschool aged kids for 2 years.

I enjoy any activity that makes the kids smile. As long as they are having fun, then so am I. I do especially love outside time though.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny or child care provider is taking care of them and keeping them safe first and foremost, but it's also about making sure they have fun and can be a kid while also learning necessary skills and motor functions.
My experience with special needs children...
I have lots of experience with special needs children. I had 3 students that were autistic, one being fully non verbal. I was the closest with those 3 and even fully potty trained one of them. I always pride myself on the way I handle complicated situations when it comes to kids and try my best to feel what they are feeling first before I react. I think special needs kids are some of the most pure and joyful souls on this planet. I have passion for kids, but even more of a passion for the extra special ones.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my student's mom came up to me one morning after having a fire drill the day before, and told me when she spoke with her daughter (my student) about the "scary alarm", her daughter said "I don't have to worry when I'm with miss Lexi, I know she'll always keep my safe." and those words will forever stick with me because that's all I'd ever wanted, was for my kids to feel safe and loved with me. It warmed my heart even more when the mom told me her and her husband agree, they also feel safe having their daughter in my care and trust me immensely.
