More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I babysat three days a week for two summers and I volunteer every Wednesday with the three year old class at my church. I volunteered weekly with my mom's second grade classroom and have been helping her with her classes for years including when she was a preschool director. I was a church camp counselor for a week with elementary school students where I went through a week long training which taught me valuable lessons on how to handle difficult children and how to make them all feel safe and loved. I will also be working at a church camp for all of July which involves children from third grade to upcoming high school seniors.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love crafts and watching kids creativity flourish when they do them. I also love playing games outside or going on fun nature walks. Reading, listening to music and dancing, dress up, little science experiments, and baking are all fun activities I enjoy doing with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, the most crucial aspect of my role is providing unconditional love and care to the children. It's necessary to create a foundation of trust, security, and support. I strive to be a positive role model, a patient listener, and a constant source of encouragement. I believe in celebrating their milestones, big and small, and being their biggest cheerleader in all their endeavors.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a cousin with severe autism and care for him often. I am also working at a summer camp in July that involves people of all ages with special needs. Children with special needs hold a special place in my heart and I plan to work with them when I graduate college. I am open to and would to learn more about how to best care for children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The child I used to nanny for and I would take little nature walks down to the creek by his house. We would point out fun rocks, flowers, and animals along the way. My favorite one of those was when I helped him pick a little wildflower bouquet for his mom and he skipped and sang the whole way back to his house "I got flowers for my mommy". It was the cutest thing ever, he was so proud of himself.
