Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
From August 2018 - May 2019 I participated in an internship at a special education preschool. After that, I moved away for college, but I spent all of my breaks from August 2019 - March 2020 volunteering in that same preschool. When school started back up after Covid our public school's busses were a mess so I provided transportation to and from school for six children. From March 2020 - August 2021, I was a caregiver for two young boys with autism. From August 2020 - May 2021 I worked as an aide in a local public elementary school.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is helping children develop their small and large motor skills through fun and engaging activities. Also being a parent is hard for anyone, but it is especially hard for parents that have to work. Not only do you have to be away from your children during the day, but you also have to worry about who you can trust your children with. I love knowing that I can ease so of that worry for parents.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in a special education preschool for almost two years. For about a year I was an aide at a public elementary school working with children with behavioral problems and intellectual delays. For almost two years I was a caregiver for two young boys with autism. On top of all of this, I helped raise my two younger brothers with special needs.
