I have been caring for children for over a decade in total. I started out watching my neighbors little girls throughout the week after school in middle school through high school and then began specializing in early infant care in the last few years. I have worked with a wide variety of ages ranging from 2 months to 10 years!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being a proactive hands on nanny. This includes lots of imaginative play and building, like making forts, playing the floor is lava, and creating games within their safe environment. I also love taking kids on nature walks where they can scooter or bike or walk with me. As well as spending time at the park helping the kids learn to trust their capabilities and try new fun activities in a safe monitored environment.

The most important part about being a nanny is creating an environment of emotional and physical safety for a child. Being steady and calm, children are learning to understand the world and themselves and they learn from the adults around them. It is so important to show them how to regulate and approach the world in a thoughtful, curious and calm manner.

I have many favorite nanny moments, however it is particularly special when you get to support a child through a major developmental milestone. One of my favorite moments is watching my nanny babies learn to use baby sign language. This is particularly special because babies often pick up the ability to communicate with their hands months before they are able to communicate verbally. It is always incredible getting to support the growing brain of a child!
