I have been a nanny for a family close to my home and community college since May of 2024. They have 2 elementary aged girls and 4 pets! I will be leaving them only to go to school in Michigan this Fall!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to take the kids on outings such as a museums, parks, swimming pools, the zoo, as well as any sport or extracurricular they enjoy! I also love to craft and encourage creative play, when indoors!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important thing about being a nanny is being able to connect on the child's level depending on their age but also to be that extension of the parent when they have other obligations so that the child learns and grows with a sense of community who truly cares for them. It is helpful to have another adult they know is always willing to help! I also would have to say the laughter, my nanny kids and I are known for always laughing. I think we can learn so much from their joy. :)
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is hard to narrow down to one. I would have to say the "oh things kids say" are my favorites. One of the girls I worked with was an avid story teller at 9 years old, and I absolutely love her creativity. I always encourage her to channel that when she can! She and I were always writing books and she comes up with the best lines! Always cracks me up.
