A little bit about me

Hello! I am a student studying cultural anthropology. I’ve been all over the world studying different world cultures and working with children.
I worked as an au pair in Spain for a year while teaching English to grades k-6th. Upon moving back home, I became a nanny for a couple of families in the Bay Area. I moved to Italy to study anthropology but was a nanny part-time for extra cash. I then went to Tanzania this past summer to work in an elementary school. Now I am back home and ready to meet a new family!
I have experience working with children of all ages ranging from 8 weeks old to almost pre-teen. I’ve worked with kids with serious allergies and I am CPR certified.
I love hanging with kids. There’s never a dull moment!

Hi! I'm a reliable, thoughtful, and highly organized caregiver who genuinely enjoys helping families create a calm and well-run home. Beyond caring for children, I love cooking nutritious meals, keeping spaces clean and organized, helping with household tasks, mending clothes, grocery shopping, meal planning, and managing household lists and schedules. I'm naturally attentive to details and pride myself on remembering the little things that make life easier—whether that's a child's favorite snack, an upcoming school event, or a family's weekly routine.
I believe that caring for children also means supporting the household as a whole. I'm patient, nurturing, dependable, and proactive, always looking for ways to help without needing to be asked. My goal is to provide a safe, engaging environment for children while bringing peace of mind and extra support to busy parents.

María Luisa O. - Seeking Work in San Francisco

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in San Francisco, CA: María Luisa O.

Hello dear family!

I think that when we travel we don't change places, but ideas, we open our minds, we know other ways of being and understanding the world. My name is María Luisa Ortiz or Malú I am from Colombia and I believe that cultural exchanges are the best way to understand the most basic and important for any human being, the sense of humanity, love, respect and empathy for the other, for ideas and cultures different from me.

This is not usually taught at school, nor at home, just traveling and meeting people and cultures. That is why I am passionate about being an nanny and teaching you all the wonderful Latin and Colombian culture, our history, gastronomy, music, etc ... It is also the best way I find to practice and improve my English for maximum 6 month.

Would you like to talk and know me more?
