My name is Lola Hemmat. I am a full-time university student looking for work over the summer. I love children and have been doing childcare for friends, family, and other families since I was 9 years old. I am an honors student and a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish. I am CPR and first aid certified. I enjoy taking care of children of all ages and backgrounds, I am always extremely lucky to have the chance to make a special connection and be another supportive figure in their lives. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for infants, toddlers, and elementary-aged children, both boys and girls. My experience includes working with only children as well as siblings, and I’ve also had the opportunity to care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which has deepened my understanding and adaptability. In addition to childcare, I’ve regularly handled related responsibilities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and homework help. I’m also experienced with pet care, including dog walking and pet sitting, and am comfortable in homes with animals.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading with children and encouraging their curiosity through play and exploration. I enjoy taking them to the playground, going on walks, and doing creative activities like arts and crafts or making simple jewelry. I also like helping them discover and dive into their own interests, whether that’s through imaginative play, storytelling, or hands-on projects. One of my favorite things is teaching simple, child-safe “cooking” activities that don’t involve heat or sharp tools — it’s a fun way to build confidence and independence. Most of all, I genuinely enjoy spending time talking with children, listening to their thoughts, and helping them feel heard and understood.

My background in Psychology helps me better understand developmental differences, and I always strive to create a calm, encouraging environment that supports both emotional and sensory needs. I’m attentive to each child’s individual personality and strengths, and I prioritize building trust, providing structure, and celebrating progress at their own pace.
