One of my favorite moments as a nanny happened when I was caring for a toddler who was a bit shy and had trouble adjusting to new people. After a few weeks of building trust and getting to know each other, we were at the park, and she suddenly took my hand and said, “Let’s go on the swings together!” It was such a sweet, simple moment, but it felt like a huge milestone.
