I have been a nanny for almost ten years to a few different families. I've also babysat for many different families over the years. My family did foster care and we had numerous children in and out of our home. I've worked at a camp in Michigan with children 0-18 (family camp) and in my missions to Africa worked with tons of kids as well as volunteering at church.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walking, playing, crafts, play time at parks, I do not enjoy letting kids play on or with devices as they need as much outside time as they can get. Harder in winter, but playtime inside and you rotating works great!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching kids life and helping them along the journey! Allowing them space to feel heard and be able to make mistakes but know that it's not always bad but to learn from them. To show them the love of Christ and how much he loves them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When the kids I've nannied for beg for me to come back because they miss me because parents changed jobs and no longer need me. I see those kids every once in a while and they run up to me and give me hugs. Makes my day!
