A little bit about me

Hi I'm Macy! I am 17 and a freshman in college. I've grown up with kids my entire life. I have 8 siblings, 7 of which are younger than me. I have tons of experience taking care of them, as well as taking care of my new nephew. I have worked a nannying job before with a family of 3 younger kids, which only stopped due to covid. I have also worked at an after school day care type thing at a homeschool co-op, where my friend and I regularly took care of 13 kids ages 6-8. Along with that, I served on the kids' team at my church (Traders Point Christian church) for two years in ages 0-6. I have also worked as a camp counselor and a life group leader for middle school girls at my church. For college, I am attending Traders Point Leadership college, this is in person a few days a week, the rest will be online. this program is to further pursue my love for leadership and ministry. I love youth ministry especially and one day hope to become a youth pastor.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at my church for two years in the 0-6 age range. I worked at an afterschool day care for a year. along with being the manager for a kid's wrestling team freshman year. I am a youth leader at my church and lead a group of middle school girls.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

crafts, baking, playing outside, creating art. Expressing creativity, journalling, drawing with chalk, painting, building little inventions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I want to make sure that the kids know I enjoy watching them, and that I'm not just there to get paid. I want to form a friendship with the child and center our days around their specific interests. I love arts and crafts and I want the kids to feel comfortable expressing their creativity with me

My experience with special needs children...

when I worked at the afterschool daycare, we had one special needs child that me and my coworker both took turns focusing on. Along with that I was a camp counselor with two special needs middle schoolers in my group. I was able to help them enjoy their time at camp by learning their triggers and making sure they were comfortable at all times

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love seeing the joy when the kids show their parents the art project they made, or a treat we baked. I love to put together themed activities and give hints as to next week's theme, so that the kids enjoy looking forward to when i come watch them next.
