I've always been helpful with childcare with kids of friends and family, currently especially with my nephew right in Lincoln Square who I watch weekly. I LOVE imaginative play with my niece (4); I wish she lived in Chicago. A creative problem solver, my curiosity helps me excel at finding new activities to explore or ways to make a repetitive task fun. I get along well with kids while also maintaining the lead, and I stay on task and on time. A Division I volleyball player in college, I really enjoyed coaching volleyball camps for middle school girls, and I loved volunteering at a reading camp for primary school kids in Burkina Faso for a summer. I am a collaborative, trustworthy empath who cares about the wellbeing of the next generation.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going to the park for 1. the jungle gym, 2. checking out what nature we can find (I volunteer at Lincoln Park Zoo and there's a great app called Seek for identifying plants and animals), 3. kicking a soccer ball, 4. playing with bubbles, etc.. Crafting (rock painting with tempura paint, making and mailing greeting cards). Imaginative play. Reading books. Homework!
