A little bit about me

Hi!
My name is Maddie and I’m a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota. My majors were in biomedical engineering and biochemistry, with a minor in English literature. I’ll be starting medical school this fall (MD-PhD), and plan to become a pediatrician. I grew up babysitting.
During my time in school, I worked with the Hennepin county library system to deliver short STEM lessons and tutoring sessions for kids aged 3-12th grade, to facilitate a welcoming environment for kids needing a little extra help in school. Thus, I’m happy to help with homework or test prep for your kiddo.
Additionally, I have extensive experience caring for medically complex children, as I worked in as a EMT in the pediatric intensive care units and pediatric emergency departments in Minneapolis throughout college.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I prefer to keep my time with kids as screen-free as we can. The occasional movie day when it rains is an exception, but I prefer to spend most of the day outside with the kids. I am happy to walk kiddos in a stroller or carrier if they’re too small to walk, bike with a trailer, or walk while they ride their bike to the park and have some fun social time with other kids.
I also enjoy taking them to museums, local events like kids concerts or festivals, and in the summer, I am happy to do pool time (1 or 2 kids maximum under 5). I was a lifeguard for 2 years at the end of high school, so I can also help work on skills they might need for swimming lessons.
