A little bit about me

I’m a teen looking to babysit or give an extra hand around the house! I have been working with children of all ages for 5+ years and love being around kids! I have a drivers license, and my own car. I am extremely flexible with hours and pay. I have watched over children ages 3 months to 13 years of age. I have done babysitting and children’s first aid courses with the Red Cross. I have also taken a Child growth and development course at my local junior college. I am in the process of working towards a psychology degree, and have been trained in basic psychology and wellness, I have served the role of a peer to peer mentor for my high school for about a year now. I am comfortable working with children with special needs, but don’t have much experience, yet would love to gain more! I am able to help children with schoolwork, housekeeping, etc. In my free time I enjoy spending time with animals, being outside, and reading! Feel free to reach out with questions!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have roughly 200 hours of volunteer work with children. I have volunteered with my local little league teams and after school care with two different elementary schools in town! Other experience caring for children would include caring for my younger sibling, and babysitting for families across Sonoma County for the last few years. I also partook in an internship program where I spent a month in a first grade classroom assisting students learn in class, and develop fundamental leadership skills. I developed skills, and knowledge on what it takes to run an elementary school level class. I have also spent time caring for students through an after school program that I volunteer at once a week.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, dress up, board games, and baking with older ones! I really enjoy being outside; activities with children outside would include going for walks, and playing at the park! I am able and would be more than happy to help children with their school work as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a babysitter is gaining trust of both the children and family. As I am only a teen myself, 18; I understand that it may be hard to trust someone my age right off the bat. I am very mature for my age and have jumped right into the workforce ready for whatever comes my way. I am always looking to have fun and gain new skills and experience. I also believe that the most important part of being either a nanny or a babysitter is to always have fun! I have many toys and activities always ready to go and ready to have fun and keep children occupied under any conditions!

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children is limited, yet ready to expand. I have worked and assisted specials needs children in elementary school levels in class, and worked with them one on one in a school environment. I have also grown up with someone very close to me being on the autism spectrum and learned how to help assist them in ways they needed and have an open mindset to others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny/babysitting moments.. I was caring for three boys on a very hot day and we went outside and played in the sprinklers and tree water balloons! Another experience I really enjoyed was looking after twin siblings and playing many new board games, preparing dinner together, and getting ready for bed. A sweet moment from those two I’ll never forget is while reading a bed time story one of the boys said “thank you for being the best babysitter ever!” Recently I’ve been watching twin girls and absolutely adore them! We watch silly movies, play hide and seek, and do lots of dress up and makeup!

My strong suit is kids under 2 years old. My last few families have all had new borns. That I’ve been with since they were about 4 months old.

I've always had a passion for helping children grow and develop, which led me to a 25-year career as a dance teacher and mentor for kids of all ages. Now, I'm thrilled to bring my skills and experience to the role of a childcare provider.

I'm patient, calm, creative, and friendly. I believe in open communication with parents and will provide regular updates on your child's day. I'm also very comfortable upholding household rules to ensure a safe and positive environment for the children in my care.

I have a college degree and 20 years of experience caring for children of all ages including newborns. I'm comfortable caring for up to four children at a time and am fluent in both English and French. I also have a car, am comfortable with pets, and have completed CPR training.
