Over the years, I have been an assistant teacher for ABC Express Childcare in Edina, Mn, as well as at Ames Play and Learn in Ames, IA. I started babysitting for a family friend when I was 15, and became a nanny for the first time in 2020. I was a camp counselor at Camp Warren for 2 years, and thoroughly enjoyed getting to plan fun indoor and outdoor activities for kids of all ages! I nannied for a second family in 2023, and had an internship as a behavior technician for the Lovaas Institute following my junior year of college!
My experience with special needs children...
In the summer of 2024, I interned as a behavior technician for the Lovaas institute, in which I cared for children ages 4-5 diagnosed with Autism. My daily responsibilities included visiting various families with various target areas for improving or teaching new behaviors that would allow their children to function easier in their daily lives, including social skills. It was a very immersive and rewarding experience, and I loved getting to see how much my work paid off in real time!
