A little bit about me

Hello my name is madison but everyone calls me maddy! I’m about to be 21 years old. I’m currently attending penn state world campus (online schooling” and living in state college. I am getting my bachelor in liberal arts of psychology and the science of psychology. I am currently looking for a job but I absolutely adore children and love working and being able to take care of them so being a nanny is right up my alley! i have two younger brothers and a niece and nephew that i’ve helped take care of over the years and i’ve also worked for a close family friend nannying as she needed me, house work, making food for the kids and keeping them entertained. i’m a very flexible person and can most definitely get any certifications that are needed to make you feel comfortable with me watching your children!!!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started babysitting when I was 13 years old. Recently over the last 5 years I have helped cared for my 4 year old niece since birth, 1 year old nephew since birth, and my youngest brother who is now 12. I also cared for my family friends three children ages 2, 4, 7.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

coloring, going on walks, going to the park, playing with toys, singing songs, reading books, watching movies, doing crafts and really anything that’ll keep them interested and that they enjoy doing!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is giving the parents and the children reassurance and showing them that I will love and care for their child/children the way they would. Also making sure the parents don’t need to worry about who’s watching their child. another important thing is providing for the kids to make sure their needs are met and making them happy and comfortable with you!

My experience with special needs children...

My mom has runs a group home for two girls with special needs. she has worked there since she was pregnant with me and I grew up with those two girls and have gotten to see the time and patients to understand to the different needs of different abilities. i’ve also gotten to see and learn what it takes to be able to work with children and adults with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

my favorite nanny moment is whenever I walk in the door of the children i’m taking care of that day and they run to me with the biggest smiles and give me the biggest hug telling me they’re so excited for me to be there and that they have missed me. it makes me so happy to feel like I’m making an impact on a child’s life and being able to love and care for them!
