Hi there! I go by Kiki. Being the second oldest of four, I’ve been around babies and toddlers my whole life, and caregiving naturally became something I love. I started babysitting in 2018 while serving in the military, where I cared for children in my command. Since then, I’ve continued working with kids and also spent time as an assistant teacher at La Petite Academy, supporting infants through early preschool. Outdoors, I love going on walks, exploring nature, visiting parks, blowing bubbles, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and playing simple games that support gross motor development. I always choose activities based on the child’s age, interests, and comfort level, and aim to create a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment wherever we are.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me most about being a nanny is creating a space where children feel safe, supported, and genuinely seen. I care about building trust and consistency, because that’s what helps kids feel confident to explore, learn, and express themselves. I’m not just there to supervise but I’m there to listen, guide, and help them grow through their everyday moments. I value gentle communication, patience, and understanding each child’s unique personality and needs. Supporting a family means partnering with them, respecting their routines and values, and being someone they can truly rely on. Being a nanny is meaningful to me because I get to contribute to a child’s emotional world, not just their schedule.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum, and I approach care with patience, consistency, and understanding. I am comfortable supporting sensory needs, following structured routines, and using gentle redirection to help with emotional regulation. I pay close attention to each child’s communication style, preferences, and comfort cues, and I collaborate with parents to follow any routines, tools, or strategies that work best for their child. My focus is always to provide a calm, supportive environment where the child feels safe, understood, and encouraged.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my most memorable moments was when I took one of the children I cared for to Disney for her birthday. We were both so excited, but the park was huge and we kept getting turned around and accidentally walking in circles. Instead of getting stressed, we made it into part of the adventure and every time we got “lost,” we picked something new to notice, like a character, a sound, or a snack stand we hadn’t seen before. What could have been overwhelming turned into one of the funniest, sweetest days. She held my hand the whole time, and we laughed so much that by the end of the day, she told me it was her “best birthday ever.” It reminded me how important it is to stay patient, present, and willing to see things from a child’s perspective and sometimes getting lost becomes the part they remember most.
