Hello! My name is Mara, I am an experienced, dependable, and nurturing nanny with a passion for creating a safe, fun and loving environment where children can grow more into themselves.
For over the last 3-4 years I've worked full time with families caring for children, from infants to middle schoolers. I have both live in and live out experience where my role typically includes classic nanny duties such as childcare, light cooking, light cleaning, laundry, groceries and errands etc. I am invested in building genuine relationships with the kids I work with, along with supporting the family and household by being proactive, reliable, organized and adopting the parenting style.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love being active with the kids and setting up somewhat of a consistent schedule in the week. Taking the kids to the library and picking up new books to read once a week has been amazing. Going to the park and getting outside often is such a joy. If the family has passes to museums, aquarium, or the zoo I like to take advantage of that it is so fun for the kids! On days where we stay at home I love to do all different types of creative crafts, and art. Getting the kids safely involved with making snacks and cooking has been super fun as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being diligently safe, kind, and loving. I believe the way you communicate with a child will go such a far away and it is so important that the child is genuinely seen and feels heard in whatever struggles or happy moments they are dealing in right now. Positive reinforcement and encouragement is so important!
