Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience caring for and supervising children in several different settings, including teaching Sunday school at my church, working as a lifeguard at KTR, and through my experience in the field as an EMT. These experiences have taught me how to be patient, attentive, and responsible while making sure the children in my care are safe and comfortable. I’m confident working with kids and staying level-headed should unexpected situations arise.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy keeping kids active and engaged rather than just sitting around! I’m happy to help with homework, cook meals or prepare snacks, play games or spend time outside, read books, and find activities based on what they enjoy. I also don’t mind helping with routines or cleaning up after activities and meals. Most importantly, I enjoy getting to know the kids I’m caring for and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and have a good time while their parents are away.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part about being a nanny is the lasting connections you make with the children you care for. I still remember the nanny I had when I was a kid and the positive impact she had on my childhood. I would love to be that same kind of positive and dependable person for the children I care for, while creating fun memories and making sure they always feel safe, supported, and comfortable around me.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have extensive experience specifically caring for children with special needs, I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting to each child’s individual needs. My experience as an EMT has also taught me the importance of staying calm, communicating clearly, and responding appropriately to different situations. I’m always willing to learn from parents about their child’s routines, preferences, and specific care needs so I can provide a safe and comfortable environment.
