A little bit about me

I have over 10 years experience as a nanny & I’m the mother of a beautiful grown & flown 22-year old daughter.

I was in the corporate world for 23+ years, working ridiculous hours & was just burnt out, so decided to get back into what gave me the most joy - spending time with & caring for kids.

So now I’m working part-time during the school year as a certified substitute teacher for K-4th & as a Special Ed Para-Pro for CCPS. I’ve also been a nanny with a family for the last year +, but they just had their second child & are enjoying their maternity leave with their new baby girl. I will be returning to them part-time in November.

I love kids, especially babies & I’d love to help you out, get a little joy in my days & explore/experience the world with some kids when I’m not subbing. I am flexible & open to whatever you need & can work part-time hours, date nights, provide emergency sitter situations & overnights (on occasion), in your home or in my home (I have a dog & cat).

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered for our church’s daycare program every year during our annual carnival weekend. I started nannying/babysitting when I was 10 years old for all the families in our neighborhood & others in our community & it paid for the 1st 2 years of my college (Child Growth & Development / Psychology).

Caring for & loving children as if they’re your own. Being the person (listening ear, friend to play with, coach, cook, etc) they need you to be. Being their ‘person’

2 friends have children with Autism & I have spent a lot of time with them, learning best ways of working with them, how they best learn, how they interact.

The most important part about being a nanny...

1 of the kids I used to babysit for came to watch me perform in a musical. She sat front row & was so enthralled & so proud & when the show was done, she came running up with flowers & asked for my autograph, like I was a real star (it was a high school performance).
She joined choir in middle school & high school & started performing in musicals as well. All because of the singing I used to do in their house when I watched them & her watching me on stage. It just made me realize how much we mean to these kids & what a pivotal roll we play in their childhood & formative years.
