A little bit about me

I have been hired by many families in Orlando, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Baldwin Park and Winter Park as a Professional, Private Home Teacher/Nanny. I have also worked with children all over the San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose, Santa Cruz, Ben Lomond, Aptos, Los Gatos).

I was just hired by a family, 3 days a week (starting July 15th), but I still need to find a position for MONDAY'S and THURSDAY'S (Beginning August 3rd).

I am open to International/Domestic Travel Nanny opportunities and/or Tutoring.

I'm an Empty Nester who raised three children of my own as a single parent. They are now adults living on their own and thriving in their careers.

I have over 35 yrs experience with children of all ages in schools and homes, public and private in Florida and California.

I love international travel.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- Jan-June 2026: 6th grade ELA, Religion and Science teacher at St. John Vianney Dual Language School (temporary). This is a position I accepted as a favor to help out the school when they lost a teacher mid-year. I prefer to work in homes over classrooms.

- 2020-Now: Private Infant Home Teacher/Nanny. When schools closed during the COVID lockdown, families hired me as a Private Teacher/Nanny to work in their homes. Once schools opened again, many parents hired me over sending their children back.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Others have told me that I have an innate gift that has them calling me "Maria Poppins" as a term of endearment.

I take joy in supporting infants gross/motor skills, teaching them to walk and talk and play. I love taking the older children to local libraries, Orlando Science Center, Museums, local story times, play groups and lessons.

Traveling with children is such a great way to teach them with first hand experiences.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Safety first then fun.

Children need to feel secure, understood, and emotionally supported, which requires high emotional intelligence (EQ). Parents, meanwhile, need absolute confidence that their children are safe and well-cared for in their absence.

It is important for me to respond to children's feelings without judgment, and provide parents with thorough, transparent updates on daily routines.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moments are rocking Infants to sleep, singing them songs, reading them books. Educating them by taking them to the Orlando Science Center, Sea World, Epcot, Libraries and Museums when they are older. I love traveling with children and introducing them to new adventures where they can learn first hand.
