A little bit about me

Hi Families! I’m Marisa, a nurturing and dependable childcare provider currently pursuing my Child Development Associate (CDA) through CUNY School of Professional Studies. I have experience caring for preschool and elementary-aged children in full-day and after-school settings, supporting routines like meals, hygiene, homework, and creative play.

I’m passionate about Montessori-inspired learning and love creating calm, structured environments where children build independence, confidence, and curiosity. I incorporate practical life skills, reading, and hands-on activities so learning feels natural and joyful.

I also have experience supporting children with ADHD, using patience, clear expectations, and positive reinforcement to help them feel capable and understood. Families describe me as warm, organized, and calm under pressure. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where children can thrive.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered as a tutor for the nonprofit READ 718, where I was matched with a 5th grader to provide reading comprehension and literacy support.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy baking, crafts, building LEGOs, board games, reading, creative writing, and math games. I also enjoy accompanying children to parks, playing catch or soccer, and bean bag toss for little ones!

The most important part about being a nanny...

To quote Maria Montessori, I believe "the fate of the future lies within the child." I love nurturing a child's interests and guiding them towards independence so they have the best chance to reach their full potential.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with children diagnosed with ADHD, and understand how to adjust structure and care for each child's individual needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A very fun and memorable day was accompanying my nanny-kids to an Escape Room at City Point. Solving the puzzles with them was exciting and heartwarming! There were a lot of laughs that day.

Tara C. - Seeking Work in New York

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in New York, NY: Tara C.

Hi, I’m Tara! I’m originally Maryland, but moved to the city for college and have been living in Manhattan for over 8 years.

I have been taking care of kids for more than a decade, starting to babysit at 13. Through high school, I had 2 families I watched on a weekly basis, as well as a number of sporadic nights for other families.
After high school, I took a gap year and spent 6 months living in Spain as an au pair. The family I was with had a 6 year old and an infant. I then babysat in the city throughout college.

Being an aunt my favorite thing, I have a 7 year old niece who I am incredibly close with and who I have been a big part in raising.

I graduated from Pace University in May of 2021, with a BA in Applied Psychology & Human Relations, in getting my degree, I took a number of childhood and lifetime development courses.
I love exploring the city and taking advantage of all it has to offer. I love doing crafts, having dance parties, and creating fun adventures.
