More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began babysitting children in my family and children of family friends at an early age which led to my interest in working with kiddos! After graduating college, I began working at an ABA center for children with autism where I learned many important caretaking skills and child development knowledge. The insight into behavior management and managing unpleasant emotions with children gave me tons of valuable experience that I apply in my personal and professional life frequently. I also spent time working as a Mental Health Practitioner working with children primarily ages 6-15 who have mental health diagnoses. This work gave me a deeper understanding of helping kids learn independence skills, emotional regulation skills, and so much more that I think is incredibly interesting in and of itself. My curiosity shines through in this space as well as I believe all humans can continue growing, learning, and changing to live a more fulfilling life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy creating arts and crafts, or simply using creativity in awesome ways. Nature is where I find most of my creativity and energy, so I would love to participate in walking, biking, going to playgrounds, and many other outdoor activities frequently. I love prodding childrens’ natural curiosity for the world by simply letting them exist in the world freely and being there to facilitate and lead their curiosity. I am a huge fan of board and card games, and I am more than happy to introduce my collection or play your collection with the kiddo(s). I have a strong ability to help others learn by leading, so I do not mind helping out with academics when I can!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Allowing your children to feel safe, loved, and able to grow, learn, heal, feel, and whatever they need to do while doing my part to foster those things. I want to ensure you feel your children, and home, are taken care of when left with me and will be treated with all of the love and respect I hold!

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with various special needs including those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and varying mental health diagnoses (such as depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, etc).

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have a special memory that sticks out from my time working at a center for children with autism. After working through a difficult emotion that came with challenging behaviors, my client snuggled into my lap and allowed me to give her deep pressure squeezes and hugs to help her regulate fully. Knowing she felt safe enough in that vulnerable moment to confide in me for support made me feel touched and moved. I formed many deep bonds with children while working at that center and it helped me understand how deeply kiddos can feel!
