Hello parents! My name is Maxine, I am a certified teacher with 10 years experience caring for, mentoring, teaching and supporting children, ages 1 to 18+ years.

I always tailor my support to each child's personal interests and unique learning and behavioral needs, including but not limited to: ADHD, Autism, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD as well as Intellectual, Developmental, and Physical Disabilities.

In addition to my passion for tutoring and babysitting, I am a professional artist and filmmaker, so I have plenty of exciting arts and craft projects to expand your child's creativity and build their self-confidence.

My schedule is open and flexible and I am also available for last minute emergencies and overnight care.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Certified professional teacher, tutor, and mentor for 10 years in charter schools, public schools, juvenile detention centers, youth prisons and camps. I have been a babysitter and nanny for 14 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am an artist, filmmaker, and musician so I love teaching children how to draw traditionally and digitally and teaching the filmmaking process, from idea to filming to editing. I also love making music with children, writing lyrics, making beats, recording and editing their songs.
I have also tutored all subjects but my favorite is math.

Outdoor: Nature! I love going on bike rides, walks, hikes, going to the park and kayaking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The increase in self confidence is what I do it for. As a teacher I took pride in supporting students with low confidence and chronic behavioral difficulties and proving to the children and their doubters that their presence and contribution are invaluable and imperative to this world. My support started in the classroom and expanded to their homes. Watching their grades, mood and behavior improve in their classes and at home made every second worth it.

Throughout my time teaching professionally, I have had the pleasure of tailoring my support to each child's personal interests and unique learning and behavioral needs, including: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, PTSD as well as Intellectual, Developmental, and Physical Disabilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Surprising mom with a concert when she got home from work. All week after school and homework I helped the children create original lyrics, make their own instrumentals, record their songs, edit their songs and create digital artwork for their song. We practiced our performance and decorated the ‘stage’ in the living room. Mom came home on Friday and it was showtime! Another favorite moment supporting a student from youth prison to walking across the stage at graduation. I began teaching and mentoring him in youth prison. When he got out he enrolled in the charter school I was teaching at and I mentored and tutored him until the day I was honored to see him walk across the stage and graduate.
