A little bit about me

I am freshly 20 years old, grew up in Damascus Oregon. I graduated from Sam Barlow highschool then attended Western Oregon University. While in high school I was apart of Sam Barlow highschool dance team all my years and was a captain my senior year along with volunteering my time as a camp counselor at Camp Magruder the same I camp I attend since the third grade. During my time at Western Oregon university I majored in criminal justice with a concentration in juvenile justice and a minor in dance up until my sophomore year when I decided to change my major to art and decision with a focus in middle school education with my continued minor in dance. I changed my path from wanting to be a lawyer to wanting to become a midddle school art teacher and a dance teacher. I grew up in a big family so I’ve always loved caring for my younger cousins.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a student teacher at Walt Morey middle school in Gresham Oregon. I also was a dance teacher for tippi ties dance company in happy valley and finally I was a student teacher aid for western Oregon university child development center.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing and teaching dance, I have a very creative background so I love crafts and creative outlets along with a sports background in various activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Really understanding and connecting to the child to truly know who they are and foster creativity and joy and love. The first five years are the most important but influence and the fostering of care can happen at any age

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have much experience unfortunately but for a summer I camp counseled a special needs young girl who was very sweet and taught me a lot about how to cater and truly care for a special needs child.
