Hello! My name is McKenna Schauer, and I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Journalism/Strategic Communication. I’ll be moving to Minneapolis in early September and am looking forward to finding a family to work with!

I have over 6 years of paid babysitting experience. I enjoy building a good relationship with the children I care for and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and supported. My Red Cross First Aid and Basic Life Support certifications recently expired, and I am currently in the process of renewing both.

I’ve always loved working with children and have a genuine passion for caregiving. I’m also comfortable helping with cooking, tidying, laundry, and other household tasks when needed. I’d love the opportunity to be a reliable and supportive part of a family’s routine!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When I am with children, my goal is to keep them engaged and enriched. Some activities that I enjoy are painting, drawing, or any sort of craft. I also love playing outside or going to the park. I try my best to keep the children I watch off screens unless otherwise necessary or specifically requested by their parents.

My experience with special needs children...

I nannied/babysat for a young girl with autism for the majority of my listed 6+ years of experience. My father also has his master's degree in Special Education, which has helped me better understand and work with special needs children. I also have multiple family members (cousins) who are on the spectrum.
