Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have nannied for 8 families and I have adored every single one! I have babysat for numerous families the past four years. My current nanny family has a 6 year old girl in kinder, and she is just the sweetest. We unfortunately will be parting ways shortly with them putting her into camps and after school activities. However, I am thrilled to find a new family to be a part of!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Walks, small hikes, arts and crafts, sensory bins, imaginary play, and the occasional Bluey watching!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building connections with the kids and families I work with. I understand that leaving your most prized possessions with someone new can be daunting, and my goal is to make that transition seamless and fun! Most of my nanny families still keep in contact and send pictures or holiday cards. I love that about this line of work! Another thing I prioritize is safety. While having fun with the kiddos is a main goal of mine, I strive to do that in a safe and comfortable enviornment.
My experience with special needs children...
My younger brother was diagnosed with autism when he was young and we have a 9 year age gap. I spent most of my childhood understanding different ways to communicate, play, and love my little brother! That was an incredible experience that I do take with me when working with children on the spectrum.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was probably when my first long term nanny kiddos and I went to a fairy garden and learned all about fairy homes. Then we went back home and created our own fairy houses!
