More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Relevant experience where I have cared for children includes both long-term nannying and camp work. I have been a summer nanny for a little boy for over three years, supporting his daily care, appointments, and fun activities. In addition, I have worked at adaptive and inclusive recreation camps, where I supported children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, and physical disabilities. Through these roles, I gained experience providing one-on-one support, helping children with transitions, and creating opportunities for them to fully participate in activities such as sports, nature programs, and social games. I truly enjoy working with children of all abilities and would love to branch out and support more families in the future!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite things to do with the kids I care for is taking them to the park or pool. I love being active and outdoors, and swimming is one of my favorite activities to share. It’s so rewarding to see children having fun while staying engaged in activities that I also genuinely enjoy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where children feel comfortable to be themselves. It’s not just about supervising—it’s about building trust, forming genuine connections, and being a positive role model in their everyday lives. To me, the little moments of encouragement, patience, and laughter are just as important as the big milestones.
My experience with special needs children...
I have several years of experience caring for children with special needs, both as a nanny and through adaptive and inclusive recreation camps. As a nanny, I supported a child with high-functioning autism and an eating disorder by providing daily care, attending frequent medical and therapy appointments, and creating structured but fun routines at home and in the community. At camp, I worked with children with autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, sensory processing challenges, and physical disabilities. My role included providing one-on-one support, helping with transitions, encouraging social interaction, and ensuring every child could fully participate in activities. These experiences taught me patience, adaptability, and how to create a safe, supportive environment where each child can thrive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was when the little boy I care for decided we should have a “pool Olympics” in the backyard. He made up events like biggest splash, fastest float on a pool noodle, and funniest jump. We laughed so hard keeping score with pool toys as “trophies.” It’s those silly, creative moments that make nannying so much fun and remind me how much joy kids bring to everyday activities.
