A little bit about me

Hi!
I just graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Human Sciences. I majored in Kinesiology and minored in Human Development and Family Studies. By my senior year, I had a focus on infant motor development and adolescent development.

More importantly, I am a “dog mom” to a Boxer mix named Bella. I am also an older sister to a rebellious 16 year. I do not have any formal nanny experience, but I have been a caregiver to both adults and children who happen to have special needs for roughly two years.

I love children and want to dedicate my life to their care. I plan on attending Physical Therapy School to help children with special needs.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for Wabash Center as a direct support person for their after-school youth program. I was in charge of transporting children from their school to the facility. Also, I would supervise 4 children at a time during my shift.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love cooking and doing arts and crafts with children. I have 4 younger cousins, and they always get so excited at the mention of brownies. Let alone baking them. One of my favorite memories with my youngest cousin, who was about seven, was making spaghetti with her while babysitting them one evening. She loved helping and adding the spices to the sauces. Being able to watch my cousin learn a new life skill was so exciting.

Also, children are hilarious. I love how every single child is living in their own world and being able to share that with them is amazing. So, playing with them and their imaginary friends is always so fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children who have special needs for about one year at Wabash Center's youth program. Now, I do respite care for a teen and two young adults.
