Hello Parents,
My name is Melinda, I'm 46 yrs old. I have been a nanny/caregiver on and off for the past 25 yrs. I've babies as young as 2 weeks old and as old 14 yrs. I've kept up to 15 kiddos by myself. I've kept 3 sets of twins. I'm able to and willing to teach young children how to count, the ABC's and more. I'm very flexible and can work almost any schedule between my set hours below. I'm not first aid or CPR certified at the moment but I can get certified.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

So I started taking kids as the age of 12 yrs old, either going with my older sister to where she was called to babysit, ( so I went along with her to help her ). Otherwise I stayed at my parents house to babysit just in case anything ever happened. Then started watching kids alone at the age of 15. I became a live-out nanny at the age of 20. I mainly kept babies and toddlers. I've also been a live-in nanny at the age of 22. I also worked in the church nursery during church services and during other events sometimes alone or with other adults.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing arts arts and crafts. Reading to and helping children learn how to read. I also love taking them on trips to in the museums, the zoo, Sea World, play grounds , swimming and other places that are age appropriate.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing is...
1) knowing how to do as the parent ask you to,
2) Knowing how to handle the kids when or if they get out of hand
3) Knowing how and following the parents directions on discipline
4) and knowing how to contact tor who to contact in case of an emergency

My experience with special needs children...

I had experience with children with special needs has been very rewarding as I got to help about 3 of them learn how to walk, talk, taught them the ABC's, 123's. I've also babysat children who are autistic, and a few other things challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I had taken 3 children to Fiesta Texas and just watching them enjoy all the games we play and all the rides. I did have a friend with me because 2 of the children were twins and couldn't do all the rides with their older sister unless there were 2 adults. But I know they a blast. They wanted to go back every day. We did take them back two more times before summer was over.
