My mother is a para professional at an elementary school, so I volunteer sometimes to help with school functions and activities. I usually work with the special needs kids alongside my mom to help them see their away around whatever school activities they are doing.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to do whatever they are interested in. I love hearing little kids talk about their current obsession. Taking kids on adventures is also super fun !!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I feel like the most important part is making the kids feel safe and comfortable with their nanny. The last thing I would want is kids to be sad when it’s time for the nanny to come. I also think it’s important for the parents to be able to go out, rest, or do other things without having to worry about their children.

My experience with special needs children...

My brother is non-verbal and low functioning autistic. My brother follows a very set schedule and routine. I take care of him often when my parents can’t or want to go out. I feed him, do his activities with him, and eventually get him ready for bed and put him to bed. I’d say me and my brother are super close !

The most important part about being a nanny...

I once babysat these kids (3&5) and my favorite thing is when the kids are excited to see me. They were super hyped when I walked into their home and sad when it was time for me to leave. These moments are definitely my favorite.
