A little bit about me

I have worked with children all my life; growing up in a full household. I'm a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in social work. I have worked in a children's science center in Michigan for over two years where I had the training and the opportunities to learn about children of all ages; from working in a infant room to working our maker-space for ages 9 and above. I've also worked in the summer camps while teaching them fun, science related material!
I tend to have a real and raw relationship with kids- I speak to them like real people :)
I was a cast member at Disney World and worked there just shy of two years but I was laid off due to COVID 19. It was so fun to be around kids in the most magical place on earth. I have been a full time nanny since 2021 and I would love to help out your family and continue the magic if I can. I'm looking to relocate to Chicago and I'm looking for about 35-40 hours a week!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I consider myself a very creative person. I love arts and crafts, and I love movies. I think they teach kids empathy and to view the world from someone else's experiences. I also have recently gotten into video games because of my recent nanny position! I typically like to stay active, but I am always willing to follow along with a family's desires when it comes to their decisions.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is showing up for the kids emotionally. Anyone can do simple tasks, but spending time with the kids and building relationships with them can do wonders for both parties. Even if it's just sitting next to them while they play video games, quality time is so important for kids fundamentally by a caregiver. To allow them to fully embrace being themselves and to be loved and accepted no matter what.

My experience with special needs children...

My current nanny position I am working with an undiagnosed mildly autistic 8 year old. (The mother says he is, not me).
