More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have previously worked in a home daycare as a teenager. After that I worked for the same woman in her daycare that she opened. It did go out of business so I had to move on. I then worked in 2 other childcare facilities and also was a nanny/mothers helper for about 5 years. I’ve have been babysitting here and there since then. I also have 3 nieces and 1 nephew. I have babysat and helped take care of them since they were born.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outdoors. I will jump on the trampoline with my own children, go on trips to the playground, spray park, swimming, go for hikes, and more. I enjoy any activity in which a child can enjoy being a kid. If it’s a day where we need to be indoors I try and think of activities that will be fun and also stimulate their minds.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me is that I can help a family with their day to day lives. I hope to make everyone comfortable so that no one, parents and children included are stressed when they have to leave each other for the day. I hope to allow their children to enjoy childhood but also set boundaries for them. I know that helping around the house is a big stress reliever as well. As a mother of almost 6 years now, I truly understand that it takes a village and even one small task being handled for me is a lifesaver.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have much experience with special needs children. I am certainly willing to do so. I do work in a hospital now and am familiar with healthcare.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most memorable moment was with a 3 year old who I remember being a little comedian.
She said,”Miss Michelle, my daddy got in trouble when we were in the car the other day.”
I said, “Oh no, what do you mean? What happened?”
She said, “He was pulled over by a police officer. He was going too fast. I knew there was police officer because I could see the flashing lights on his bald head.”
She had me laughing so much. I did share with her parents at pickup and she had us all laughing.
