More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

From January, 2022-now, I have babysat children ages 6 months-12 years. From that experience I have skills in potty training, behavioral management, and child development. From [phone number hidden] I was a summer camp counselor at "Safety Town". I had a group of 12 kids ages 4-7 years of age, many with special needs. My job was to teach young kids on what to do in emergency situations in a safe but fun way. From September, 2025-June 2026, I have student taught for both kindergarten and second grade classrooms at Mabel Rush Elementary School. This experience strengthened my communication skills, and ability to support children's academic and emotional growth simultaneously.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy reading to kids and going to libraries because story times were always my favorite when I was a kid. I believe that getting kids outside is important to, so walks, parks, farmers markets, and backyard play is fun for sunny days. If it’s rainy out doing crafts, playing board games, or participating in make believe games are more enjoyable!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment working with kids was actually my first day of student teaching. I was in a kindergarten classroom and it was the kindergartners first full day of school. It was a bit of a mess because it was some of their first times away from their parents, especially since these are the kids born during the lockdown. One girl, Melody, didn't know where the bathroom was so I walked her there and the moment we stepped into the hallway she burst into tears because she missed her mom. It was my first time in this kind of situation but I was able to easily calm Melody down with just a few words, and she finished the day with no more tears! This may seem like a strange favorite moment but it was the first time I thought “Wow. I can confidently see myself doing this for the rest of my life and feel content and fulfilled”. That was the moment I 100% decided that I wanted to and was confident that I could become an amazing teacher one day!
