Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy reading books with the kids to hear their perspective. For example, what do you think will happen next? Why do you think that? What do you enjoy about the book so far? Why do you think the character is doing this?
I think it is important to create prompts for children while reading. So, they can enjoy to read & get used to thinking critically about books sooner than later.
I enjoy helping children with their homework. I try to answer their questions and ask questions to see if they are able to now understand the problem they had. I also do independent research on mind maps so for children of age I would like to help them with that as well.
When the children play outside I usually supervise until they ask me to join. For example, a group of children I was watching were really into soccer and playing on the play structure. But they just wanted me to supervise the rules of the game. Or they would play on the play structure until their parents came to pick them up.

The most important part of being a child care provider is to continually learn how to care for children. This includes nurturing their character, emotional needs, physical needs, and their education. As well as reflecting those values in myself as their caregiver.
My experience with special needs children...
While babysitting, I helped a special needs student write an essay. I made sure to prioritize the needs of the student such as reassuring her when she’d question herself. She was able to put together an essay with points that she understood and was pleased with.
