Hello! My name is Naomi, I am 20 years old. I am the middle child of 8. I grew up homeschooled and helped with my younger siblings a lot, with schooling, feeding, bathing, basically everything. And I grew to love it a lot, I’ve been nannying for about two years since for families other than my own. I love doing crafts with kids, I’ve taught a lot of children to knit and crochet, bake, lots of painting and drawing. Basically what the child is interested in I try to find fun things that coincide.

I have nannied for 3 different families in the last year, a family of 4 ages between 3-9, and another family of 3 ages 5-14 and a family with a 1 and 4 year old. I also have lots of casual babysitting experience.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Painting, drawing, knitting, crafting, baking, for younger kids finger painting and sensory crafts are great, building things and matching colors. I love the outdoors enjoy taking children on nature walks. Making popsicle stick boats to put in the pond has been a big hit these last few weeks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

of course safety is the most important, but other than that quality time and building a friendship with the child/children is very important to me. Wether it’s though playing with them, baking with them or if they’re older, them being able to talk to me or ask advice is great. Having 7 siblings myself might be why I feel that it’s so important, making sure they all feel noticed and nurtured.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Probably all those moments when kids just say the darnest things. The things that are just so odd and hilarious and I always have to remember to tell the parents when they get home. Those are my favorite moments definitely.
