More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Volunteer in the Sunday school at my church, camp counselor for two years, worked in the nursery at my church
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Coloring, reading books, watching movies if allowed, going on walks, playing catch, dress up, going to the park, playing tag or with toys.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience is perhaps one of the most important skills for nannies. As you will spend hours and hours with children so you will need to be able to handle their mood swings and behavior without losing your temper or becoming outwardly irritated. I would also say communication this means both speaking and listening. You must be able to communicate well with parents to understand the specific needs of their children. If you’re unsure, it’s best to always ask questions to get all the information you can about the child you’re taking care of. You also need to communicate effectively to the children. You’ll need to assert your authority, but work with them, not against them. It’s important that you don’t speak to the children in a patronizing tone as they won’t be as receptive.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for kids with many different disabilities.
autism, adhd, dyslexia, down syndrome, add, depression, anxiety, speech impairment, wheel chair bond.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments is when one of my kids who struggled with speech finally said my name for the first time correctly and told me how much of an impact I had on their life and that they wanted to be just like me, because I was their hero

Hi! I am a 19 year old college student studying Early and Secondary Education at York College of Pennsylvania. The passion to care for children came from the many years I cared for my family members and coworkers children. Studying education has broadened my scope of childcare and my healthcare experience working at Country Meadows as a Patient Care Assistant has made my love for caring for people grow. I am also a very bubbly person with many fun quirks!
