Hello there,
My name is Nia. I am a 20 year old U.S. citizen looking to experience and appreciate new cultures while also sharing my own. I'm currently enrolled in university pursuing an arts degree. I have experience teaching and caring for children, as I've been an au pair in the past. Along with previous au pair work, I've been a Sunday school teacher for several years and have a younger sibling of my own. In addition to being an older sister, I also have plenty of younger cousins that I look after. Cooking, cleaning, crafts, assisting with school work and drop off/pick up responsibilities are no trouble for me.
I understand my responsibilities as an older sister, cousin, and au pair. Making sure I'm a quality role model is of utmost importance. Children are the future, we need to guide them and allow them to flourish into their best self. Any opportunity to work in a new setting and learn from my surroundings would be life changing. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Living in a Hispanic household there’s always children around. I care for my younger brother while also have the responsibility of being the cool older cousin. I’m always around to lend a hand. I have 4 years experience nannying and 6 years babysitting. Changing diapers, assisting with school work, and being a chauffeur isn’t foreign to me. I've also been a camp counselor and Sunday school teacher for 5 years. I recently returned home from au pairing in France for a few months, caring for two children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Recently I’ve rediscovered my love for reading. I spend the majority of my time flipping through psychology and self-help books, and journaling. In addition to reading and writing, I enjoy creating tangible art, whether that be through paintings, quick drawings, and even ceramics. I love photography and study film.
Whenever I need to clear my head I can spend hours riding my bicycle through my town. It’s a beautiful way to appreciate my surroundings while also staying active. I also try to go on runs everyday to help me stay healthy. Living a healthy lifestyle impacts how I choose to spend my time. Trying new recipes also sparks joy (especially for my tummy).
