Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In high school, I was in a program for early childhood and was able to run a preschool. We got to experience planning, creating different games, and had to document who the children were developing. I've also helped in babysitting a few of my cousins as well. Ages range from 2-10 years old.

Crafts are my favorite things to do. I can also incorporate learning as well into anything I do with the kids. I'm able to help with homework or any school work. I'm also able to take them to the park or places appropriate for them.

For anyone who works with children, the main goal is children's safety. That is the number one goal, but with that, you also need to understand each child is different. It helps if you had patience, understanding, adapting, and learning with them as well.
My experience with special needs children...
In the preschool that I was helping run in high school. We had one child who had autism, and he was attached to me. I was able to get them to interact with me, and we worked on different skills. By the end of the year, he had made a friend and was able to communicate better.
