The most important part about being a nanny...
One moment I clearly recall is while working on a community project with about 12 kids. I had a new kid who thought he did not belong in our group. He gave me a difficult time every opportunity. It was a few weeks in of him telling me that everything we did was stupid and did not matter to him, with the attitude that he was grown and too cool. It had recently snowed. We went out to take care of our chickens. He had his hands in his pockets with a scowl on his face. One snow ball thrown and by the end of our outing, he was making snow angels and singing, "let it snow" with the other kids. He was a group leader after that. Sometimes kids need space and safety to warm up to new situations and people. I have patience for these things.

I'm Claire. I have been an Au Pair for 2 years and I am confident in my ability to love and care for children. I do have a CPR certification that has expired and I will work on having it renewed. My host child was two years old when I started taking care of her. I have potty trained her, taught her how to ride a bike etc. I have gone above and beyond the usual responsibilities of being an Au pair and I know that I can be a valuable nanny it given the chance. I am currently a live in nanny to 4 young boys ages 5 and under!
